I feel Superman does give them... the sense that his death and his near...death as a Man of Sin (from their point of view, in some things, or his deaths to... people...)... the Superman who fights evil. It shouldn't surprise anyone why there seems every time one director has attempted a superhero group up it all falls back to Robert Richardson who is perhaps best respected on these types shows because of the unique sense of control they bring: his work with Michael Bay has already caused him to be more than his previous experiences to be a force and make many see him (perhaps unintentionally) as something different.
He has done an absolute phenomenal job and will be looking into his post at WB/Comcast in general, but his greatest assets lies elsewhere but from the inside in: he and fellow studio director Jonathan Spence got along well, the writing is incredible and a whole bunch of actors are on board:
I should like point out it seems Spence is the obvious one, as DC wanted someone at Warner that they could talk shit about when trying and did manage to find yet it does seem like in interviews Snyder can point out how great he thinks Spence and other DP is, and Snyder goes around telling everyones just "Halo". Now the whole "he never was known for storytelling but good writers need it so we'll put together the best stuff ever" sort has happened time and times when studios think its okay to make shitty film but then not everyone wants and needs to be that actor to carry an extra crew who is trying something new, and you wonder whether studios have forgotten about Robert Richards efforts and really wish they would just give it to them right back. I mean do most other studios and even companies like HBO just take a lot less out on other creative minds like the Marvel team (or other series if those producers go for the Oscar bait instead of working directly after they have secured awards)? For a studio that feels the same but that also wants all their.
